Cheryl Joanne’s Story: A Journey of Sobriety, Creativity, and Inspiration

Cheryl Joanne’s Story: A Journey of Sobriety, Creativity, and Inspiration

Cheryl, from Waterloo, Liverpool, UK, is living proof that recovery from addiction can unlock unimaginable potential.

Her journey is a story of resilience, self-discovery, and giving back—a journey that began when she decided to quit drinking alcohol.

On March 22nd, Cheryl will celebrate an incredible milestone: 5 years of sobriety.

For Cheryl, the decision to stop drinking was life-changing.

As she worked on her recovery, she began experiencing a remarkable sense of clarity.

This clarity led to a creative spark she hadn’t experienced before.

“The quotes just kept coming to my mind,” Cheryl recalls.

These thoughts, full of inspiration and hope, became the foundation for her book, Quintessential Quirky Quotes.

Released on October 1st, 2021, the book is a collection of 152 original and uplifting quotes that reflect Cheryl’s journey and the wisdom she’s gained along the way.

Available worldwide, including as an audiobook, it has touched the lives of readers everywhere.

One of her most memorable quotes reads:

“Be your own best friend

You’ll have eternal friend-

Ship right to the end.”

This simple yet profound message is a reminder of the importance of self-love and self-support, especially during the recovery process.

But Cheryl’s story doesn’t stop with writing.

Sobriety also gave her the opportunity to focus on her physical health.

Over the years, she’s participated in countless fitness challenges, including 5K runs and regular gym workouts.

At the beginning of 2025, Cheryl completed her 17th Hesketh Park Run—a testament to her dedication to staying active and healthy.

Her love for running has also become a way for Cheryl to give back.

During one of her 5K runs, she raised money for Queenscourt Hospice, showing that sobriety isn’t just about personal transformation but also about contributing to the community and making a difference in the lives of others.

Cheryl’s recovery has inspired her to live by one of her favorite quotes from her book:

“When you touch at least one person’s heart each day,

That’s remarkable in every way.”

This belief is at the core of everything she does.

Whether through her book, her fitness journey, or her acts of kindness, Cheryl is making an impact and showing others what’s possible when you embrace sobriety.

Her story serves as a powerful reminder that recovery is not the end—it’s the beginning of a new chapter filled with potential.

Cheryl has turned her challenges into opportunities to create, inspire, and connect with others.

From publishing a book to running for charity, she embodies the idea that life after addiction is full of possibilities.

If Cheryl’s story teaches us anything, it’s that every small step in recovery matters.

Whether it’s picking up a pen, putting on running shoes, or simply deciding to embrace another day sober, those steps lead to extraordinary transformations.

As Cheryl approaches her 5-year sobriety milestone, her journey continues to inspire.

She’s a shining example of what can happen when you combine courage, creativity, and a desire to make the world a better place.

Let Cheryl’s story remind you that no matter where you are in your journey, it’s never too late to rewrite your story.

Sobriety isn’t just about what you leave behind—it’s about discovering who you’re meant to be.
